I took some time off after the semester ended because finding an internship and doing a summer semester took a lot of my time. I couldn’t fully focus on what content to post, but I am happy to say I am back! And yes I still found time to do some shopping.
I made a larger purchase within the past few weeks. I was attending a fraternity formal and a wedding within a month of each other. My first thought was to treat myself to a new pair of heels. I promised myself I’d wear the heels to both functions and spend a little less money on a dress, so I could fully splurge on the heels. I ended up getting the nude Christian Louboutin Pigalle 100. I have the same exact pair in black so I didn’t have trouble with sizing. The only thing I was shocked about was the difference in comfort. The black ones I always feel like I am walking on shards of glass, whereas the nude ones are sooo comfy!
And yes, I know everyone probably thinks I’m out of my mind for saying a pair of Christian Louboutin’s were comfortable, but they really were. Now, the reason I think personally the nude are bizarrely more comfortable than the black is because I had the nude sealed on the bottom. I would get every pair I own sealed, it was well worth it. For those who don’t know what “sealed” is, it’s a bottom that is added to the sole of the shoe so the red does not wear off as easily. After I wore the first pair the first time they were destroyed, so I learned my lesson.
Happy to be back & Happy Shopping!
Over the weekend my mom and I were shopping for new everyday shoes. I was looking for a replacement pair of slip-on sneakers that are easy to put on for class or when running errands. My mom was looking for new everyday work shoes (which she found at Macy’s). Anyways, I ended up buying a pair of Steve Madden slip-on sneakers that were very casual, but cute for casual wear. They came to $59.98 at Macy’s.
Let me tell you, THE most uncomfortable pair of Steve Madden shoes I have ever purchased. I have always loved Steve Madden for inexpensive shoes because they are fashionable, inexpensive and usually quite comfortable. This was not the case for this pair sneakers. I wore them for a few hours and my feet felt like they were going to fall off. I ended up having to put bandaids on the back of my heels because they were actually bleeding.
I have never had such an experience with Steve Madden shoes. I will continue buying his shoes, but I was shocked when this happened. I ended up having to return the shoes because I honestly couldn’t bear the thought of having to wear them again. And personally, I am not the type of person AT ALL to return something after using/wearing it, but this was a rare case.
Am I the only one who finds myself shopping on rainy days? On rainy days I’m either watching catching up on my favorite TV shows, doing my homework or shopping. I just wish my favorite thing to do was free! Yesterday, was a typical New Jersey rainy day and of course I had no homework to do and was obviously in the mood to shop. And it was a good thing I did! I own a few pairs of Marc Fisher shoes and I seriously live by them.
Marc Fisher is a reliable shoe designer. The shoes I own by him have lasted their full life expectancy. Personally, I find his shoes to be affordable compared to other designers. My most recent purchase is a pair of black suede over the knee boot. They were originally $130.00 at Macy’s. They are on sale for $90.30. On top of this deal they are also running a promotion where if you buy 3 pairs of shoes you get 40% OFF or if you buy 2 pairs of shoes you get 30% OFF.
This is the best time of year to buy winter or riding boots for next season! You get the best designers, shoes and deals. The sale ends at Macy’s April 2! Now is the time to stock up on all designer necessities for next season. What better time than a rainy day to get all of the best deals.
Just had one of the best pick ups of my life! Stuart Weitzman tan, suede combat boots. They retail at $535. At Saks Fifth Avenue OFF FIFTH in Shrewsbury, NJ I got them for $53.97. Practically free!! I absolutely live for this kind of find. I wasn’t even looking I had just stumbled upon them, they were my size and I immediately knew I had to get them at that price.
Stuart Weitzman collections can be found at Lord and Taylor, Saks Fifth Avenue along with the OFF FIFTH branch, Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack, Zappos, Neiman Marcus etc. At your local OFF FIFTH’s and Rack type stores we find that they don’t typically carry full collections which can make it hard to find certain styles or colors of a certain product.
If you didn’t know Stuart Weitzman shoes run anywhere between $200 to over $1,000. For this pair of boots to be marked down as much as they were, they were practically free! It’s always a good feeling purchasing something that we personally know was more expensive and we got it at a discounted price. I am not opposed to shopping at Marshalls, OFF FIFTH’s, Racks etc. It’s always a better feeling getting designer merchandise at a discounted price!!
My brother and I are very close and his birthday just recently passed. I always try to get him valuable presents, that are useful and won’t lose it’s value! Especially, since I am a crazed designer fan most presents I give are designer! A lot of people say that they are horrible at gift giving. I like to think I am a good gift giver. The way I go about gift giving is when a family member or friend says that they want something I instantly write it down to resort back to when it’s time to give a gift.
For my brother’s birthday, I decided to splurge a little and get him Gucci Slides. Gucci Slides are no different than other slides like Nike or Adidas. You’re strictly paying for the name and look of the shoe. I knew they were something that he really wanted. They come in white and black with green and red stripes on them. Obviously, not the most appealing color combination, but if you are a Gucci enthusiast these are a better choice then Adidas and Nike slides.
The slides retail at $190. Fortunately, I work for a company that sells Gucci and was able to use my employee discount on them! Although, with the perk of the employee discount I still had to pay shipping and handling which could become costly if they end up not fitting and I have to return them and re-order them in a different size. Overall, I paid including shipping $110. This is a great deal considering its about a $80 difference from the full retail price of the slides.
My advice to you to receive the best discounts on designer, work for a company that sells it and use that employee discount!
